‘Having a targeted  marketing plan is a key part of the publishing process and this is where many self-published authors fall down.  There are many great books out there that most people haven’t heard of – don’t let yours be one of them.’

What can I expect?

In  our Active Marketer  package,  we devise an individual, clear and detailed marketing and promotional action plan for you to implement, designed to reach your target audience while utilising as many different forms of online and offline media as possible.

At our marketing meeting you will also receive a Kick-Start marketing pack (which was developed with Geoff Duffield, Sales & Marketing Director at PanMacmillan) including: press release templates, a guide to contacting the media, an author event pack, a blog and social media pack, image files of your cover to be used for promotional materials and more. There are plenty of cost-effective things you can do if you have the time – let us show you the way.

If you are really serious about launching your book and writing career, chose the Publicity Pro Package and you will have your own dedicated publicist working on a four week nationwide campaign.

After an initial consultation, your publicist will use their strong media relationships to pitch reviews, interviews, extracts and features on you and your book to print, online, radio and TV journalists nationwide. You will get weekly updates on which publications have been contacted and what the response has been.

What about online retailers?

With so many titles on the market it is not enough just to have your book available at retailers. Acorn have developed strong relationships with online retailers to get our titles in promotions which boost sales and chart ranking.

We have a solid track record with submitting titles for Amazon promotions such as the 100 under £2.99 and have also secured additional promotional spots for our authors such as banner advertising, guest blog posts on KindlePost, promotion on Kindle UK’s Facebook page and having our books featured on both Kindle Daily Deal emails and the ‘Books to Try’ landing page on the Kindle devices.

We also regularly submit titles for Kobo promotions such as eBooks from 99p and often have a range of titles in their category and seasonal highlights.

For examples of the types of promotions our titles have been in recently download our promotions pdf here.

For more information about which marketing services are included please view our packages here.

What about actual bookshops?

In our Active Marketer and Publicity Pro packages, we will create an Advanced Information sheet about your title and send these out to retailers big and small – from Waterstones to local independent stores. We love bookshops and work with them to set-up launch events, readings and more.
